Alex Bradley

Alex Bradley is a Perth- based photographer currently both completing her PhD and lecturing in Photomedia at Edith Cowan University. Her photographic work on ‘Identity & Technology’ attempts to bridge her love of the traditional photographic arts with a contemporary electronic arts practice. Her photographic work has utilized Polaroid, painting–with-light, film and television stills, scientific diagrams, photogram, x-rays, analog and digital photography.

Electronic arts projects include’Augentia’: a collaborative music performance performed at various venues in Perth in 2004, and a small contribution to performance artist Stelarc’s ‘Prosthetic Head’ project. Her photographic work has appeared in various publications and exhibitions, including a solo exhibition in 2002: ‘Wallflowers: An orchard in the land of technology & In the hothouse’. She won a first prize in the 2003 York Photographic Awards, and co-won the Edith Cowan University Postgraduate and Honors Student Assoc 2004 Photography Prize.

Her current work is a contemporary exploration of surrealist photography in relation to new technologies.
